I decided I wanted to meet my birth mom. My parents sent pictures and stuff when I was a baby but then they started getting sent back to them because she moved. They never got a new address so I didn't know where to find her. Well I I had her name and new where her parents lived so was able to find her on MySpace. She only lives a couple of hours away from here so I told her I would like to meet her. She said okay. I was so excited. We sent messages through MySpace and talked on the phone once before we met. She was kind of quiet when we talked on the phone. I didn't ask a lot questions because I was sooo nervous. We agreed to meet at a Denny's near her. My dad drove me because my parents were worried about me driving (I"m 17) that far in an area I'm not used too. Well I didn't think I had my hopes up but now I know I did. Everyone said don't expect anything just see what happens. My dad dropped me off and said to call him when I was ready to go and that he brought his computer and would wait as long as I wanted. When I walked in she wasn't there which was okay because I was 5 minutes early. After about half hour I called her and she said she was on her way but nothing about being sorry she was late. 10 minutes later she came. I was so happy that I could see some ways she looked like me. When she walked in I wanted hug her. I walked up to her and started to like hug her but she just stood there. I had really hoped she would give me a big smile and a hug andy maybe even cry because she had missed me so much but none of that happened. We ate and she answered a couple questions although I'm not sure she wanted too so I stopped asking. She told me I had 2 younger brothers and a sister. None of my siblings live with her!! Her mom takes care of the oldest and the rest she adopted out. She said she didn't have her act together and her bf who is my bio dad didn't want kids because he as into the "fast life". She never said she was sorry or that she missed any of her kids. I felt like crying but I didn't. When the bill for the food came she put $7 on the table. The bill was for $23 plus you have to leave a tip. Her stuff was probably $12 because she had desert and everything. I ordered food but didn't hardly eat a bit. I paid the rest of the bill. She said she had to go meet a friend. I asked her if she wanted meet again and she said to send her a message through MySpace!!! I feel so totally terrible...I want to die. How could the woman who gave birth to me be so cold. I am really depressed and having a hard time eating. My parents are being super nice because they are worried but it doesn't help. NOTHING makes me feel better. I feel like I am living in a nightmare. Before I always thought (this is what my parents told me) that I had this birth mother who loved me but just couldn't take care of me. I don't feel like this is true. We don't have enough money for a lawyer. My questions are this: Can I (no legal exp) represent him and/or can he request a lie detector test to prove he is indeed innocent of what they're charging him with but yet guilty of the lesser crime of using extremely BAD judgment? Possible Mono Relaspe?

Ok So I started feeling the symptoms of mono around September 25. I ended up staying out of school for the next two weeks after that and had strep throat which developed into mono. I got Prednisone and around October 6 I felt better. I went to school October 8 and all of this week while feeling completely better. I also went to the doctor again and they said I also didnt have strep anymore either. Well on October 13 I have started working out by doing my usual routine of P90X. My throat sometimes gets a funny feeling but only stays for about an hour. I am scared of getting a relapse of mono from working out but I also have been eating very healthy and getting at least 9 hours of sleep per night. Is it alright for me to continue working out at my normal pace?

How do you help your baby when they get lint or eyelashes in their eye?

My baby just turned 3 months on Saturday. But there has been something bugging the heck out of me. Sometimes she gets lint or eyelashes in her eye by rubbing them . I know when it happens to me it hurts and I try to get it out. But for my baby i worry and I try not to bother her but wonder if anyone go through this and if they have a method that they use to get it out or if they leave it alone and hope it comes out by itself. I just dont want to make it worse by messing in her cute little eye, but if there are ways to do it by not making it worse it would help.

For some reason this reminds me of the moral story about giving the guy a fish instead of teaching him to fish. If you give him the fish you only fed him for a day. But if you taught him how to fish you fed him for a lifetime. This fits that mold the same way. You are not really helping your friend in the long run if you're helping them to find friends. You are doing more harm to them than good. This is something they need to do themselves. Now you can help (teach) them to find and make friends with people. This would be harder on you and them, but in the long run its better for everyone involved.

my mother died on 11/19/06 because of that it was my responsiblity to look after my step-father due to health issues. He gave me power attorney to take care of things on his behalf...he has no children just me, he changed me to sole beneficary on his life insurance in place of my mom...he elected not to include any of his brothers and sisters. Is that a hacker? We've already had major problems with our checking account last week-- someone stole my checkcard/Visa number and has used it to spend $2000 out of our checking account. Why does it hurt my feelings that my two sisters are so close?

My oldest and youngest sisters are like best friends. I never really had an opportunity to be close to either because of life situations (moving in with husband while they stayed home etc.), although we maintained good relationships. It seems now that I want to be closer, they have no interest. I'll admit I'm not perfect, and have been through some hardships that's made a big impact on me, but I've never done anything spiteful, rude or malicious. Im going into the Army as 13B and will be getting Airborne qual also.. I've been thinking about what I will do once my 4 years is up. I've been reading alot about these private security companys that hire ex military and pay big bucks and i mean BIG bucks to basicly be a Mercenary. the correct turm is "private security" but lets call it what it is, its a mercenary. They take part in armed conflict for private gain. Is it normal to have extremely week hind legs for a dog post bladder stone surgery?

My 4 yr old Daschund had a bladder stone lodged in his urethra so we opted to have it surgically removed. His recovery has been good until yesterday when he started dragging his hind legs. Ok so got married Feb. 6th and wife went off of her Paxil when we found out she got pregnant and had to switch to Zoloft on low dosages. Ever since she got off her Paxil she went crazy and the Zoloft helped but she was never the same not to mention the hormones. Well started talking divorce quickly after goign off Paxil and it was like kissing and sleeping in the same bed allthough she enjoyed it before became a chore so she stopped and eventually questioned if she loved me and eventually decided she doesn't love me. I just got her back onto Paxil a few days ago since baby is recently born and the adjustment has been ruff. She asked me today if I would sign the papers if she filed for divorce and I said no, then she got worried and I said I'm sure you can figure out a way to divorce me without my signiture. Then she asked me if I would fight for full custody of the baby and I said well I'd atleast fight for 50% and then she started getting upset and wondering if it'd be worth it to divorce. I love her and I told her I want both of us to have 100% custody and it's not fair because I never did anything to seperate me from her or the baby and if she divorces me I lose alot of custody anyways and that it does me no good to want a divorce and that I've done nothing to deserve this. My dog has lost use of his hind legs?

He is a beagle mix that we rescued about three years ago. He was already old and he already had some back problems and arthritis in his legs. Actually he walked with his back to one side. But while we had him that straightened out quite a bit but unfortunately we kind of felt sorry for him and he put on a lot of weight while we had him around 17 pounds. He had a low thyroid test come back so he has been on thyroid medicine and also tramadol for pain. So now in the last four months he started losing the ability to walk. He has incontinence problems and we are seeing a problem peeing now as well when we do take him out he has to make a greater effort to pee. We have asked the vet to find out when is the time to put him down but she has been evasive and asked us to take him to a orthopedic specialist. We do not have the money to start a new course of treatment for this animal as we have other animals in the house now that need medical attention too. What should we do? He still drinks and eats anything and everything. He has eye growths and now he wakes up with really goopy eyes as well unless I remember to medicate his eyes. The only way they could know that she was drunk was if they gave her the breathalizer test because she cannot do the line test because of MS. I'm late 20s and my boyfriend is the same age - been together 6 years. During our relationship, I always knew he wanted kids and I did too (or at least thought so). I was never overly excited about having children (not so much the taking care of them part, but the pregnancy and birthing part), but I figured I would come around as I've always envisioned them in my future. Earlier I asked why everyone thought Texas was all desert. I then explained that it's mostly prairie land. One of my contacts added people believe Africa is all jungle. I'm sure most people ume Canada is all frozen tundra with permafrost, and the Canadians live in igloos. I know the majority of Canada is dominated by the Canadian Shield which is mostly boreal coniferous forests. That's what 80 percent of the landscape is there. When I was a kid, I thought Australia was all outback. After I did some reading, I realize there are actually steppe regions and tropical rain forests there. Most people think all deserts are hot and sandy. Antarctica is a desert. So is Greenland. Most deserts are actually rocky deserts. The true definition of a desert is any region where there is less than 10 inches of rain per year and vegetation is sparse. It never said anything about annual temperature. I know this because I majored in geography. Most people I've met on the East Coast thought that California was the only place west of the Appalachians that had any civilization. They called everywhere else between The Great American desert. The settlers umed because it wasn't dense forest, the land was infertile. Little did they know, that region is one of the most arable locales on the continent. It's actually prairie land like Texas. The real American Desert is actually west of the Rocky Mountains.
