Had an ink related question?

i accidentally putted some ink on my steering wheel or my car like now there are like 2 smudged spots on there. can anyone tell me how can i get rid of those spots. my teacher told me to take any kind of alcohol preferably isopropyl alcohol and rub it on there and that should get rid of the ink marks/stains. can anyone tell me if that's gonna work or no?? can someone give me a yes or no answer. thanks
