What is the difference between cryptids and mythological creatures/ legends.?

Cryptids include the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot and the chupacabra... but are these also legends or do legendary/mythological creatures include the unicorn, mermaids, etc. ?? Seems like they're all kinda in the same category.
