Are Anderson/Wyatt Cooper related to James fenimore Cooper?

I need to know this because I know I'm related to James fenimore cooper, and If he was related to Wyatt Emory Cooper, then that means I'd be related to the Vanderbilt family too. I have a reasonable belief that I am related to Wyatt Cooper (Anderson Cooper's dad) because he was from Quitman, MS which is very close to where my family's Coopers lived. I would ask one of my relatives but most of my family's coopers are already dead. If no one knows the answer, where could I go to have someone do research for me?
