Do people still plat platform games?

hello, i am doing an ignment for a few weeks in school and i decided to do my ignment on platform games and how they evolve threw the years. I am wondering if people still play platform games 3d ones or 2d. Games like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Raccoon. Since the time on first person shooters do you think there is still a large communities of casual platform gamers still? Thanks for info.
