How do you help your baby when they get lint or eyelashes in their eye?

My baby just turned 3 months on Saturday. But there has been something bugging the heck out of me. Sometimes she gets lint or eyelashes in her eye by rubbing them . I know when it happens to me it hurts and I try to get it out. But for my baby i worry and I try not to bother her but wonder if anyone go through this and if they have a method that they use to get it out or if they leave it alone and hope it comes out by itself. I just dont want to make it worse by messing in her cute little eye, but if there are ways to do it by not making it worse it would help.
