What do you think of my idea?

In my cl, we're going over Greek gods and goddesses and the creatures and heroes and heroines. I'm really getting into this, and I was wondering, can I write a book (on my perspective) about how the gods and goddesses, creatures, and heroes and heroines got started? Like the 2010 version of it? Like them being teenagers, and how they got their names? Is it a bad idea? Does it sound interesting? Like one big book, or series, about them becoming friends and they find out their destiny's? I really want to get started on it, because it is a really great idea, well I think so because I thought of it. I know they have stories about Hercules and The Gorgons, but can I do my own version? Oh all of them being friends and nemesis's (if that's even a word)?
